Facebook: A writers Opportunity or a Waste of Time?

I have been using Facebook to promote my writings for the past few months, and to be quite honest, while it has not led to the sale of one single book, it has helped my profile to no end…

I have been using writers communities, which have been the nearest thing to Social Networks before the advent of MySpace and its compatriots for a good few years now, and I have found Facebook to be among the best for both feedback and exposure when done right.

First: you can do yourself a FanPage… its extreme vanity, but if you do not promote yourself, no-one else will

Next, create a user group, so those who like your readings can sign up: use THIS group to email your subscribers with new material, news of new releases etc.,

Interlink the two, and invite your friends, invite them to invite their friends etc…

Do not forget to join some of the more active groups… not just the ones with the most members, but the most ACTIVITY, that will get you feedback… you get
